Yes!!! it's FAIR time!!
Fair time is always an exciting time. You are getting excited and trying to get your project exhibits completed so you can enter them in the fair. I (Angela Post, Harrison County) love going to the West Virginia State Fair to look in the 4-H Building at all of the 4-H’ers project exhibits, to see people you haven’t seen for a year or even people you see every day.
There are so many exciting things to do at the West Virginia State Fair in Fairlea, West Virginia which is in Greenbrier County. Some of the things that I like to do is help set up the 4-H exhibits in the Youth Building at the fair. I also take in as many of the free shows as possible. The 4-H Dance Ambassadors will be on stage August 11-12. A lot of 4-H talent is on display during the nine days of the fair. The State Fair opens on August 10 and ends on August 18.
There is a new West Virginia University Building and both the exiting president and the new president, Mike Garrison, of the University will be at the fair on Thursday. It would be a great time to introduce yourself and let him know how important the 4-H program is to you.
Check out the West Virginia State Fair. All counties receive fair admittance tickets which should help you a lot. If your 4-H project is exhibited you also get a free pass to the fair. There is free camping on the grounds associated with the fair and state parks near by.
So come on and go to the West Virginia State Fair!
