It Went Too Fast!

Thaddeus | July 20th, 2007 at 5:02 pm

Tad here, and I cannot believe how fast this week has gone. Seriously now… This is only my second blog this week! Mel and I have been way too busy, it seems. Like tonight, for example, we co-MC’d the Talent Show, then played music together for the candle lighting ceremony. Well, I suppose I shouldn’t say that we were too busy. It’s more like we just were doing more things than normal.

Well, tonight was the final night in camp here at Alpha II. This means 2 major things: 1. The 21 year-olds aren’t allowed to come back to camp next year; and 2. camp is OVER. I’m still on high from the whole experience and it’s gonna be hard for me to get back into the non-camping mode. It’s weird…..my body has actually trained itself to work best in the camp environment this summer. I mean, I get up at around 7 every morning, I’m used to 3 solid meals a day and I even have a set bathroom schedule!

Well, all I can say now is that it’s time for us to take the camping experience home with us. Camping is a huge part of 4-H, but it’s easy to forget that it only happens a few weeks out of the entire year! 4-H isn’t ONLY about camping, but it IS really important to take the things you learn and do in camp and carrying them over into your everyday life and affecting those around you.
