Alpha II: The Adventure Begins

Thaddeus | July 17th, 2007 at 6:29 pm

Tad Light here, and I am currently at Jackson’s Mill State 4-H camp for Alpha II. This week has already gotten off to a fantastic start. We’ve got a circus theme here at camp this year, and it’s looking like this is going to be a week to remember!!

However, seeing as this week has only just begun, I’ve little to report on. Oh! My boy Sam was selected to be Sagamore of his tribe today. Man, I was way proud. He, Mel, and I hung out together every day at college, and we’ll all 3 be chiefs next summer during the camping season.

Hey young counselors:
Thank you very much!!!!! my two sons were one of those new faces and first year campers. They went thinking that would be one of their last 4-H activities, because they weren’t planing to register for next year. On our way down, me (mom) was talking about the value of 4-H and encourage them to live the present and to see the positive and take the best of their time in camp. I went on to a teacher’s conference for a week in Charleston WV, my week was busy, interesting and fast also. On my way back to Jefferson County I picked up my boys and the first thing they said was: “Mom have we told you that we are staying in 4-H?” OH!!!! surprise !!!!! They had a great time, good role models and open their eyes to all the opportunities 4-H can offer them. FINALLY THEY ARE GETTING THE MEANING OF 4-H!!!!! I am sooooooooo happyyyyyy!!!!!!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!
