A Week to Remember

Caroline | July 15th, 2007

On Friday I returned home from an amazing week of county camp: Pleasants County 4-H Camp 2007 ? “Reach for the Stars through 4-H.” I love my county camp for many reasons. Our ECIs reminded us so frequently that our camping program was one of the best in the state!

I was also a charter last week. For any of you who don?t know what charting is it?s an experience that kids in 4-H normally go through when they?re around the ages of sixteen or seventeen. The program teaches you about yourself and helps you discover who you really are. The ECIs of the county camp normally lead this class. I could not have asked for a better group of people to chart with or better instructors. There were only six of us in our group, which some would say was a small group. This made me very nervous, but in the end I believe I benefited from having a small group because I got to know all of my fellow charters on a much more personal level.

County camp overall though was a great week. We focused on wishing and dreaming. We talked about how you should always dream and never give up on your dreams no matter how crazy or out of reach they might seem. I want to give a big How-How to our two ECIs Matt Faulkner and Sammi Matheny. They were the best ECIs Pleasants County has had for many years! Like I said previously the week was amazing and charting was an experience I will never forget.
