Community Service and Serenades

Thaddeus | June 20th, 2007 at 11:16 pm

Tad here, and it’s been a good day.

I’ll start off by talking about the community service that we all “volunteered” for today. The job I “volunteered” for was the task of pressure washing the tennis courts. I figured that this would be a relatively quick job and that it wouldn’t be much trouble. If only I had known what was in store. We were only given one pressure washer to do the entire court, and it wasn’t even able to take the moss off of the court. The moss has been there for quite a while (possibly decades), though. Anyway, we took a long time on that, and eventually got to the point where we figured we had done all that we could. Surprisingly, the work was fun and it wasn’t as bad as I had figured it would be. I suppose that’s how it always goes.

Anyway, on to the entertaining aspect of todays events – COTTAGE MEDITATIONS!!! Alright folks, for those of you who don’t know what that’s all about, I’ll explain. It’s more or less like a serenade that the guys and girls put on for each other. We (all the boys of a certain cottage), under the supervision of counselors (of course), go and pick up the girls from their cottage and take them to a specified location where we will sing to them and do readings and other things of that nature. ANYWAY….. my boy Mel Johnson and I took control over our Cottage’s group and we made it into what I believe may have been the coolest one ever. We sang “My Girl” by the Temptations, and later went through a medley that contained plenty of awesome, romantic love songs that I can’t seem to remember at this point.
The important thing is, after it was all said and done, the ladies loved it. LOVED IT. Everyone had a really great time, myself included.

I’m way tired, so it’s about time to go. Oh, I mentioned in my last blog about bring Mel into All-Stars. And to answer RAMPAGE’s comment, I tapped him.

haha Thanks Tad! I was testing to see if the comments were being read. I’m a little bummed out- they can’t change the name of “comments” to “echos.” So now the name doesn’t make sense! Maybe see what the kiddies want to call it.
