What a day...

Thaddeus | June 19th, 2007 at 11:28 pm

What a day! Tad Light here, and I’m just chillin out after a day of heat and nonstop movement.

Today seemed as if it lasted about the equivalent 2 or 3 days due to the heat alone. I’m all about the summertime (just call me Will Smith), but OH MAN it was so hot today. It was like 872364598376 degreezzzz in the shade, not to mention that most of the buildings that I’m in all day aren’t air conditioned. Needless to day, I was sweating buckets all day. ALL DAY BABY. ALL DAY.

Anyway, aside from the crazy heat, I got to do something today that I have looked forward to for about a year now, and that was taking my main man Mel Johnson into the WV 4-H All Stars. For those of you out there who don’t know about it, the All-Stars is the highest honor that you can receive on the state level in WV 4-H. I consider it my honor and privledge to be a part of that organization and to be able to welcome one of my closest friends into it.

I’m kinda in a reflective mood, so I want to talk about 4-H and what it means to me. Coming to Jackson’s Mill for OMC isn’t like just going away for a week to hang out, it’s far more than that. It’s almost like a gigantic family reunion. It’s a type of togetherness that can’t be explained much better than that analogy. The friendships forged through time spent together at a camp are incredible. BOO-YEAH.

Well, it’s off to bed I go. Things got a little crazy tonight and we got off schedule by nearly 1 1/2 hours. I’m tired. TIRED I SAY!!!
